It makes sense as Bombay is cabaple of serving a larger segment of population than BLR could ever hope to in the next 15 years.
Well Mallya said they are planning to start BOM-LHR and BLR-LHR around the same time in early September.
Unlike their 332s, their 345s are yet to reach India AFAIK. That explains a later scheduled start date for BLR-SFO.
Also, it is not as though BOM is a sure market - just look at IT's hesitancy in starting BOM-JFK.
