You may be surprised that there are actually a few daylight US-Europe flights:

Delta has a daylight JFK-LHR flight. Departs at 8:50 am and arrives at 9:10 pm.

British Airways has two daylight JFK-LHRs (8:20 and 8:40 am), AA has one (8:30 am). BA also has a daylight EWR-LHR and CO has two daylight EWR-LHRs.

I believe it was last year that AF tried a daylight JFK-CDG, but it wasn't as successful.
I'm pretty sure last month a colleague took a UA daytime flight between IAD and LHR. The downside for him was getting up early for the 5:40 AM ATL-IAD leg. The upside is getting a hotel room close to LHR and waking up in the morning ready to kick some butt instead of dragging your own after a long redeye and AM arrival.
