Continental owes you $75 back, IMO. I'd start with 800-we occasionally pretend to care and when that doesn't work send a PM to
CO Insider. They might claim that because the earlier flight still wasn't delayed until after the original departure time they don't have to, but I think that it is a matter of mincing words at that point.

Totoro, in a scenario like this it would be considered “involuntary standby,” and would therefore be exempt from this fee.
