What should happen is the priority bags come from the aft bulk load and are then hot shot to the belts. The runner returns after the regular bag containres have been unloaded and drops the containers at the belts. Works in theory but the rampies sometimes don't follow through with the action.
Nice thought in theory, but here in YYC we only have enough tractors for 1 per flight, so the guy who would hotshot the Priority bags would be gone from the flight for about 10 minutes, meanwhile nothing else comes off the airplane due to the fact there is no tractor there to move any equipment. So you tell me what we should do. We are supposed to have a dedicated Priority runner during the mid day, but due to the ramp being short around 50 guys this summer, he is always re assigned, so no Priority runner. Please also remember we groom here and do not have dispensers like the big station. We put through the same amount of passengers or close to in YYC as YUL but do not have the resources they do. They have dedicated groomers, bag dispensers for inbound bags among other things, we do not. I can not speak for YVR as I have never worked there, but here in YYC it is best described as organized chaos everyday. New guys running around with not much of a clue, not their fault due to a lack of experience, but still takes away from our effiency, and again being short 50 guys, lots of fun.
