I work at YVR and I'm safe to say it has a pretty decent baggage system.
Air Canada uses lines 4 and 5 and they have recently been upgraded so the driving distance for tug is less.

I go in and out the bag hall every single day and i am safe to say that AC baggage personnel are quiet inefficient. They don't have enough guys unloading and some of the staff just move bags very slowly. (throws a bag on the belt, talk to the other for 2 sec, then throws the other bag)
They don't take their jobs that seriously cause they are protected by their union.
