No, it's not the title of a camp comedy based on the Louis de Bernières novel, I'm actually flying CW from JFK-LHR on Saturday and I have to take a mandolin with me (gift) which I would prefer not to have to check as I am only planning on taking hand luggage.

Does anyone know whether I will be able to take said mandolin on board? It will be in a hard case.
