i am planning a trip in early november. i would like to spend 7+/- days in either australia or new zealand. i have been to NZ once 10+ years ago (for work) and would not mind going again since it is a distant memory. so, my decision will be based on the following criteria (in order):

1. availability of flights (direct from LAX would be HIGHLY preferred) using AA miles on AA or hopefully another carrier (traveling first class if that matters).

2. weather - prefer sunny enough for the beach

3. abundant activities from adventure/hiking etc to less active activities like breathtaking scenic drives

4. cost - if there is a huge difference i would want to consider that.
