In my original email to Starwood back in October, I presented the Resort at Singer Island as my main example of hotels that did not seem to operate in the spirit of the program. I agree that there are few hotels that are problem hotels. (Westin Maui used to be another.) My objective in contacting them so many months before opening was to help ensure that they didn't let the developers rope them into doing something stupid without any time to address the loophole. Didn't do much good, did it?
