I was considering checking out the W , since I will be in the Maldives in about a week , but they require a 3 night minumum

and the rountrip air taxi runs about $400 USD

FYI : The Currency in the Maldives is the Rufiyaa.
I have been there many times and really only used the currency in Male itself and at the airport to buy a water or something like that.
I have only used 2 atm machines to withdraw money .
1 at the airport before exiting the secure baggage area and the HSBC
Bank ATM in Male .

Also if you look at the website for the W Maldives, it says it has limited participation in the SPG program , so I don't know if you get all the benefits as plat.
