Ha. I can only imagine how average Americans would react to a nice carryout carton of "stinky tofu" (popular Taiwanese dish).
There's a restaurant in Boston that serves fried stinky tofu, but you can only get the traditional steamed version to go.
The reason smells seem stronger on airplanes is because the air pressure in the cabin is lower than at home (for most people). Add in the recirculated air, and smells are indeed stronger.
