Your experience does not surprise me.

However, one piece of good news - I have had several cases across multiple airlines where my BP showed only the operator's flight # (not the codeshare), did not have my FF#, and where credit was due only on codeshares, and I was always able to get mileage credit. Can't remember for sure if any of these was with AA, but in general this situation has not been a problem for me.

Maybe I'm missing something, but surely all codeshares are eligable for miles (subject to possible fare class limitations). If you have bought a ticket on an AA flt #, it earns AA miles - right ?
