Increased my fare after booking?
I'm trying to find out how I got shafted here... I book a multi-segment K fare ex-LAX for next week, thru a local travel agent. I was printed an itinerary, fare receipt, and credit card draft. On my credit card statement, it showed that CX had charged my card, not the travel agency. The flight also showed up on my marco polo flight plan.
Long story short, I received a call from the travel agency saying that I didn't pay enough for the flight. They wanted another $200 because the fare increased on one of the segments. (PVG-HKG)
I basically told them to remove my PVG-HKG flight... I was told that it can be done, with a cancellation fee. Then I asked them to cancel my entire itinerary so I can buy the ticket somewhere else. They told me that there would be cancellaton fee.
So, short of any good options I told them to charge the $200 and I'll deal accordingly... Anyways who screwed up? CX or travel agency? What options do I have at this point? I'm thinking of completing the trip, and then FAX the fare receipt to AMEX so they can charge back the $200... But thats a sure way to make it onto a black list.
