During my wife's junior year in college, a group of Korean-American girls shared a the four singles off the common room and would hold a "Kampus Koreans" party on Sunday nights. (For an elite liberal arts school, they sure loved that whole "Kampus" gag...)

One Sunday I went over to her dorm to hang out and generally cause trouble. I had seen the girls hanging out in the quad, talking about what to make for dinner. About 45 minutes later... it was like smelling salts had been crammed up my nose. They were cooking a huge pot with some noodles and beef.

Now, I love the flavor and experience of kimchee, but, wow, what a bad night that was.

Cheers,
