I have a short notice (<7 days advance notice) domestic trip next week. Usually I would book it on UA and pay the extra $150, but this time I am taking US (yuk, but they're all short flights <70 minutes). I figure, what's the difference. I get the EQMs either way. The extra 1600 RDMs that I would get as my status bonus on UA aren't worth $150, and I can live with crappy seats and service for a day.

The sad fact is, I wouldn't have thought twice about the money if the 500 mile minimum was still around.

Go ahead and call me cheap! I don't care, b/c I am!
