Booked with AA RTW desk, called AA JNB ( Mindpearl), They issued ticket with in 24 hrs!
I saved $500. USD per ticket in "EXTRA Taxes, charges for stop overs that were not stop overs, fuel fees that we bogus etc. etc.
And saved $500. USD in FOREX charges because of weaker rand when original ticket was purchased from CX.

I will get a full refund from CX. ( At least that is what they said: I do not trust them so I put a stop Payment on them

NOW I have a AA segment from HKG-SFO for the platinum challenge and I am rid of the JNB CX office. And I saved $1500. :

I have yet to hear anyone say anything good about CX in JNB (me least of all). For all their much vaunted service in the air they take no pride in some of their ground operations and this one is abysmal. Wish there was a CX lurker around here...
