Indeed, the only *A route I think!
Make sure your wife isn't p*ssed off at flying to SIN first, though, which is a good 6 hours further than the usual route via Dubai or Qatar. The shorter route is LH to Dubai or Qatar but you then need to pay cash for the connection on Emirates or Qatar, which isn't cheap.
