Tell them your under 8s are actually midget undercover Sky Marshals and have them bump those others out of their seats.
Just kidding. But really, that's about the only thing that would work. Agents generally don't like to mess with pouching someones advance seat assignments, for obvious reasons. Let's face it, many Frequent Flyers are very particular about their seats and don't like being moved without their blessings. We've seen many threads on how hot under the collar folks get that are reassigned without permission for whatever reason.
Best bet IMHO, is at the gate (where they can sometimes page specific seat holders to come up and discuss) or onboard musical chairs.
