Given my understanding that crew bases are assigned postions on flights on a monthly basis, I wouldn't infer the base staffing in August would be a permanent shift. Especially because UA has an increased domestic schedule from SEA in the summer and can reassign SEA F/As to domestic flights in August much easier than in the autumn or winter.

My two cents about SEA-NRT: I think the fact it wasn't canned in the latest round of reductions must indicate it's not a total dog.
