Then you did not change your ticket, you did cancel the original reservation and make a new one. In this case even a B fare attracts the cancellation fee of course.
And it is quite likely for the agent to make mistake when booking the ticket again. I'd call asap to get it fixed otherwise you are in for another change fee when rectifying the situation.
I called and was told that the B fare on the flight I wanted was $1000 more expensive than the one I originally bought, and if I wanted it, I'd have to pay the upcharge. I declined. B fares aren't just swappable without paying the fare difference right?
