Missing mileage credit advice

I flew a couple of USAir flights on June 28th. It's now been 12 days, and although my ROP number showed up on the boarding passes, mileage has not credited to my account. (In the past, *A partner mileage usually credited in 2-3 days.)

I was reviewing the FAQ procedures on the THAI website for applying for missing mileage credit:

What do I do when miles are not automatically credited to my account?
For flights with THAI, Star Alliance and partner airlines, the ORIGINAL boarding passes and a copy of your ticket must be submitted to your local THAI office, or the Members Service Centre in Bangkok, within 6 months of the activity.
Faxed or scanned boarding passes cannot be accepted for mileage claims.

It looks like my options (in USA) are to send these boarding passes to Los Angeles, or to hand carry them to the Members' Service Center in Bangkok. (Since I am anticipating a trip back to Bangkok in November, the latter option would fall within the 6-month time frame.)

I am a little skeptical about a lack of accountability if mailed to Los Angeles, based on some previous dealings with that office. If I send my originals and they claim they didn't get them, or lose them, etc., I am left with no options. Since THAI insists on original boarding passes, I only get one chance at this.

Anybody with any experience or advice about this? As it stands now, I need this flight credit to requalify for ROP Gold by the end of 2008. Where is the Members' Service Center located in Bangkok? Do they offer walk-in service?
