I think one of the former Sofitels may have been rebranded.
I really don't care about price (up to a certain level - I am not a Russian oil billionaire

). It's just with Cour des Loges - I read too many reviews where words/phases like slightly dodgy plumbing - leaky plumbing - dusty around the edges - filthy curtains and bed covers - loose tiles - dirty throw rugs - stained fixtures - rusty sink - etc. - etc. came up for me to consider the hotel. Perhaps all these reviews were written by fussy old women like me

- but that's just the kind of traveler I am. Note that I think it is very difficult and very expensive to renovate an old property and turn it into a true luxury hotel. It can be done (we were at the MO in Munich last year and thought it was wonderful) - but it requires a lot of work and "very deep pockets".
nicolas75 - My eyes lit up when you mentioned the Museum of Contemporary Art (I love contemporary art). Then I discovered that the Museum is closed Monday and Tuesday - the days when Lyon would fit best into our schedule.
And thanks to everyone for the other recommendations. I will take a look at them. Robyn
