Yea I'm on two reservations, both with the same airline, the complicated result of squashing flights to Quito through on the way to Australia.

Also, what airlines are you flying? You must check to see if there is an interline agreement between the two or checking your bags through is a no go and you will have to clear immigrations and customs and exit land side into the terminal. This would make the hotel even a better option if you are stuck with your bags. Depending on the airline, the check in counter may not be open if they handle only a couple of flights out per day and you get there outside of the three or so hours before those flights go out.
I'm with LAN Chile so there won't be a problem at SCL. Staying at the holiday Inn would probably be the best option, but I'm looking at US$200 for the night and I'm kind of on a budget..

I'm looking at two options:

Staying in the international terminal, camping out in the Pacific Club lounge, therefore remaining in transit. Would I be able to do this without a membership, and would I have to prebook?

Entering Chile, leaving my baggage with the Left Baggage service (Can I do this?), heading into the city, finding something to do - dunno, see a movie or something, eat there, then head back to the airport and check in as soon as they let me...

First definitely preferable, depends on weather I'm allowed in or not.

Thanks heaps for your help here. I'm new to travelling by air alone and don't know much about airport procedure.
