That is actually a matte of taste rather than an indication of lack of class.
I decline to drink and refuse to serve champagne that is not properly chilled; I don't eat asparagus with a fork, and when serving it always provide a finger bowl; I always provide fresh glasses and a sticky wine when dessert is served, rather than topping up the main course wine. So that establishes that I have class and style.
However I chose to eat my prawns whole, head first, then legs, then the torso (but I don't expect others to!). I think it is a Tasmanian thing, where we would barbecue the prawns and the crisp shell was quite tasty. But I have carried the habit over to the UK.
