I called Iberia, (now that's a frustrating experience).They basically say to check the website (website lets you see the promos unless you do as I did and check the actual reservation). The reps say all seats have been upgraded an recline 180 degrees in Business Plus on the A340-300 and the rep says there is only one cabin of 7 rows---not a split cabin, which is confirmed when I check the actual reservation and see my seat. So, I changed the 6a seat and was able to book seat 1a next to a "seat taken". I figure that in December all seats will be taken anyway because of the Holiday, and with the seat separator in Business, how bad can it be? If I slide down, I'll slide into the wall.:-) American Airlines can give no information-no one seems to know anything if it's not their AA flight. I also read that because I am traveling on a non-paid ticket (only mileage) Iberia can bump me without penalty if necessary-----these things are not good for an old heart! I may not even get on the plane--LOL!
Take any of the central seats on row 6. Much better for sure!! No idea what the agent knows about IB, but Frequent IB travelers know where to seat.
For sure 340-300 has 2 cabins for business, so the agent has no idea about cabin distribution, most times seatmaps are not showing real arrays specially IB ones as is well known.
IB Business Class Rewards tickets are equal to FULL FARE IB BUSINESS CLASS tickets so nobody will bump you unless you arrive very late to the gate.
