When babymicah was bassinet-sized, we didn't bother with a travel crib and just traveled with our bugaboo frog, letting him sleep in the bassinet portion of the stroller (sometimes mounted on the stroller, sometimes just the bassinet sitting on the ground).

Once he graduated from bassinet to crib, we started traveling with a Graco Pack 'n' Play. We have the most basic model (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LP2G6K), and it's worked fine. It's very, very easy to set up and break down and folds up into its own easily-schleppable carry case.

Note if you don't have a stroller with a real bassinet, you can also use the same Pack 'n' Play, as it comes with a bassinet attachment.
