As I've also said in that thread, not all crews will do this for you and it's against policy for them to do so. It would be a shame for people to come to expect it and then it doesn't happen.

However, there are times when there are dozens of babies on board and it's physically impossible to store all the buggies on the aircraft. Furthermore, if the crew then have to get all these out it delays passengers both getting on board and disembarking the aircraft. Believe me, I've seen it happen and had to deal with the complaints from passengers as to why they've been held up.

You're just one passenger with an infant, multiply that by 20 or more (as I witnessed just yesterday) and I'm sure you'd be able to appreciate the other side of the coin.
The problem with this policy is that BA will not return the buggy to you as you disembark. BMI bring the buggy to the aircraft door if it has gone into the hold. In practice, however, I have found BA crews and CSAs to be exceptionally helpful when you are travelling with babies
