I'm not sure, but a Touch has wifi and e-mail. You could argue that the distinction is irrelevant if you don't recognize flight mode.
They look slightly different, the touch is thinner. Does the touch even have airplane mode?
I would let the FA have it if they said that I couldn't use my iPhone in Airplane Mode!
