The OP declined this option, so opted to sit in economy. I for one, even when I was a lowly PLT, like this policy. I agree completely. If you want to sit in First, "pay" for it using stickers, miles, cash, become an Exec Plat, buy an F ticket or use an eVip. Even employees or guests of employees (except those traveling on company business i.e. deadheading) have to pay to fly in F. Except for the occasional op-up situation, it is unfair to those of us who choose to "pay" for a seat up front if they just move people up because there are empty seats in F. Although rare these days, it is nice to have empty seats in the front.
