On some flights recently, I have gotten on to planes that have more than a few open seats in first class. My question is, once I have boarded and I see that there are empty seats, should I go back to the gate and ask for an upgrade? I don't understand why they wouldn't want to fill up the first class cabin, if it isn't already full. Do they ever pull people from coach and bring them up front to fill up the cabin?
