I'd say Banff / Jasper all the way ... and spend a bit of time in Calgary while you're passing through. Other than the natural beauty, Banff has a fantastic fondue restaurant called the Grizzy House that has all kinds of fare (rattlesnake, elk, etc.) 17th Ave in Calgary is a great street for shopping, food, etc. if you need some urban-ness after being out in the mountains.
