Volvo Aims to Revolutionize Air Travel
Every few months or so, some new person or organization pipes up and claims that they’re working on something electric or autonomous that’ll revolutionize the way we travel. This month it’s Volvo, which is currently developing the prototype for a vehicle called the 360C – a fully autonomous electric transportation system that, it hopes, will prove a threat to aircraft as a transportation option.
“Imagine you have an early morning meeting in a neighboring city. You have two options to get there – a short-hop flight from your local airport, or a fully autonomous pure electric travel solution that can deliver you directly to your meeting place, having avoided check-in, queuing, flight delays, security checks and everything else that is part of air travel. Which would you choose?” reads the Volvo website.

How do you say "pipe dream" in Swedish?
„pure electric travel solution that can deliver you directly to your meeting place, having avoided check-in, queuing, flight delays, security checks and everything else that is part of air travel.“ I already have that. It’s called a train.
