United CEO Headed Back to Work

United Airlines announced Sunday that CEO Oscar Munoz is set to return to work on a full-time basis on March 14, 2016, after recovering from his heart transplant five months ago. The 57-year-old experienced a heart attack one month after he assumed the company’s executive position in October.

In a letter to United employees, Munoz said, “My new heart makes me feel like I’ve been given a new set of wings, and that reinforces my confidence that, with the wings we all share, we can soar in our quest to make United a great airline for our customers and a cherished place to work.”
