Turkish Travelers Receive Warning Due to Trump Protests

On Saturday, Turkish authorities cautioned its citizens about traveling to the U.S. due to social and political tensions during nationwide protests against President-elect Donald Trump.

“Within the context of risks caused by the incidents and of social tension, our citizens who live in the U.S., or who are considering travelling there, should be cautious,” the ministry said.

The announcement comes on the heels of tension between the U.S. and Turkey over Turkish demand for the extradition of cleric Fethullah Gulen, who the nation holds responsible for a failed July coup.
