This New VR Experience Puts You in a Plane With Tom Cruise

With the release of The Mummy just one week away, a new VR experience puts you inside of a plane with star Tom Cruise straight out of a scene from the film. Created by Positron, a Los Angeles-based startup, the “Voyager” uses a computer-controlled chair with such features as a VR headset, 3-D audio and mood lighting to simulate a feeling of weightlessness – something experienced by the characters in the aircraft as it plummets in the beginning of the film.

“It’s this really fine-tuned magic trick that suspends the audience’s disbelief,” says Creative Director Christopher Olimpio of the 5th Wall Agency, the firm that shot The Mummy Experience.
