This Airline’s Racy Safety Card Sparked Debate

Budget Hungarian carrier Wizz Air has been criticized by one passenger for the racy graphics shown on its in-flight safety cards, which show a scantily clad female figure. Laura Watkin took to Twitter to voice her upset to the carrier, but her post resulted in a fierce online debate over the images.
Low-cost carrier Wizz Air has come under fire from one passenger for the racy graphics depicted on its in-flight safety instructions, The Daily Star reports.
Laura Watkin took exception to the airline’s choice of using a scantily clad female figure on these instructions and voiced her upset via Twitter. In a post that has been quoted by the outlet, she wrote, “Really @wizzair?! Surely the bare legs would result in serious chafing on the emergency slide? #jobsforwomen #everydaysexism #bodycon #stereotype.”
Her post resulted in an online debate, with users seemingly divided over both the images and Watkin’s reaction to them.
Responding to Watkin’s initial post, one user wrote, “There is no reason to shout sexism as soon as you see a woman that looks decent, on a safety card. Just look at the flight attendants on your flight. How else would people identify the flight attendants if they do not draw them the way they look and have looked for decades?”
Offering a rebuttal, Watkin replied, “This is a picture of a passenger for a start. And thank you for reinforcing my point about stereotypes.”
She did, however, also receive messages of support from others, one of whom wrote, “…all credit to you for responding to some of these messages with such dignity. How bizarre for people to think they can respond to your valid point with such anger.”

I was expecting some sexy images, but those were reserved for all the clickbait on the Daily Star site.
I suppose everything just has to be a non-gender identifiable stick figure or else somebody will get upset.
Yeah, I thought it'd be much more risqué than it ended up being. I’ve learned by now that when one of these tweets ends in about a half a dozen hashtags, it’s probably faux outrage.
