Reddit Asks Cabin Crew: Weirdest Thing You’ve Seen on a Flight?

Think you’ve seen some crazy stuff on planes? It’s probably nothing compared to these. Flight attendants reveal the REAL weirdness.

Thanks to the glory of Reddit, Internet users worldwide can get a deeper look into the lives of pretty much anyone. Reddit member ChiefGage turned that lens to flight attendants in a recent query, asking about the most bizarre things they’ve seen while in-flight. Here are three of the best, via the Daily Mail.

User Tameflyaway says: “One lady was full on screaming at me because I wouldn’t let her into the crew rest area—[she was] insisting that I let her use the non-existent crew-only lavatory. And there was the passenger who took a sleeping pill, sleepwalked and peed on another passenger.”

Pilot Mothman405 shared: “A guy in his mid-30s, who was sitting about a quarter of the way into the plane, colostomy bag broke and ended up spilling all the way to the back as he sprinted to the lavatory. He left poop-prints all the way back. A flight attendant felt awful for him and did her best but a few passengers ended up puking. She ended up going on the PA to announce that if anyone had anything to say about it, go to her, in an attempt to protect the guy.”

User Intreption added his mother’s story to the mix: “My mom who is a flight attendant just told me this story on her trip where a women [sic] went into the bathroom and forgot to lock the door. A man then went up to the bathroom and thinking it was empty, opened the door and stepped inside. Now upon stepping inside he immediately saw her and tried to quickly move back out—except he had unknowingly stepped into her pants and hooked his foot. So when he jumped back out he dragged her by her pants into the aisle with him and then as she struggled to break free he fell also so they started rolling around on the floor fighting one another—her half naked trying to pull her pants up, [and] him panicked and desperate to be free.”

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. ChiefGage’s post drew nearly 1,600 responses, everything from someone masturbating in their seat to people using the hall as their personal toilet (which has happened more than one, according to user Paola_rod), to a elderly woman biting a flight attendant with her dentures and drawing blood, to a middle-aged man who told the flight attendant he visits drag clubs pretending to be a bear, and asked to be called Dr. Daddy.

The craziness continues with stories of just sheer ignorance—like people asking to have the engines on the plane turned down because they’re just too loud.
