Qatar Announces FIFA Sponsorship

Qatar Airways has been confirmed as the sponsor for FIFA effective through 2022, filling the vacancy left in 2014 when Emirates pulled out as a sponsor for the embattled organization. This announcement comes on the heels of corruption scandals and revenue loss that has plagued the governing body in recent years, and FIFA has had great difficulty in finding a sponsor until Qatar stepped up. The partnership was announced as several FIFA officials arrived in Bahrain for an annual meeting.
