Qatar Airways Launching Direct Flights to Gaborone, Botswana This October

This fall, Qatar Airways will become the only non-African airline flying to Botswana. Starting on October 27th, the Doha-based carrier will introduce direct flights to the growing capital Gaborone (via Johannesburg, South Africa) thrice weekly–

Overall, Gaborone will become the 23rd destination and 16th country in Africa to welcome flights from the premier OneWorld alliance carrier in the Middle East. Botswana has made a name for itself in its relative stability, and breathtaking natural scenery and wildlife throughout the country, counting the Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert, Chobe National Park, and the Moremi Game Reserve among its star attractions. From Gaborone, daily connections can be made to Maun, the primary starting point for tourists visiting Botswana’s parks and reserves.

Qatar Airways will be utilizing its Airbus A350-900s, some of the newest aircraft in the sky. The aircraft has 36 seats in QSuites Business Class – which features the possibility of double-beds for couples, and privacy panels that can be stowed away – as well as 247 seats in Economy Class.

In addition to Gaborone, Qatar Airways will also be introducing flights to the resort island of Langkawi, Malaysia in October. This year, the rapidly expanding airline has already added Rabat, Morocco; Izmir, Turkey; Mogadishu, Somalia; Malta; Lisbon, Portugal; and Davao the Philippines to its list of more than 160 destinations served.
