Police Chase Hotel Robber Dressed as Pumpkin/Clown

According to authorities, a man wearing a clown and/or pumpkin mask carrying a gun entered both an Embassy Suites and a Days Inn in Livonia, Michigan, Thursday. The man first entered an Embassy Suites in a clown mask at 7:10 a.m. and reportedly held up one or two patrons and the lobby’s desk clerk, escaping with cash and a woman’s purse.
Next, police believe the same assailant struck a Days Inn about five miles away at 10:15 a.m. in a “pumpkin mask.” He demanded money from the front desk register but fled when he heard the manager approach. Officers responded when the Days Inn manager dialed 911 and a chase ensued, with the aggressor firing shots at officers. No injuries were reported, but authorities did lose the suspect.
