Need a Home Office Break? Hilton Offers Rooms as Workspaces

With rooms available, Hilton Hotels is putting their unique spin on the co-working space. The hotelier is launching WorkSpaces by Hilton: special day-rates for those looking for a place to work away from home for a day. The new options are available at hotels across the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United Kingdom.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, workers found themselves forced to work from home – some for the first time in their lives. A Stanford University study estimated as many as 42 percent of the workforce was pushed to create a home office space to work. To help those stuck at home, Hilton Hotels has a solution: WorkSpaces by Hilton, offering special day rates for workers to rent a room as a working office.

Clean, Convenient and “Distraction-Free” Spaces at Hotels Across the Country

As the name suggests, workers who need to get out of the house and take a break from the day-to-day grind at home can move their operations to a “home office” at one of many different Hilton Hotel brands. Hotel rooms are doubling as offices, with desks, chairs, complimentary wireless internet access and all the hotel amenities that are open and available. Rooms can be booked at participating hotels across the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United Kingdom.

Hilton Honors members can earn points and stay credits for booking a WorkSpace, and can also stack their room with other promotions as well. Elite members can also take advantage of all the benefits due to them, including two complimentary bottles of water at check-in and space-available room upgrades. Diamond members can also get free premium wi-fi and executive lounge access at hotels where the lounge is open.

To book a WorkSpace by Hilton, guests must call their hotel of choice directly. Hilton Honors members who book their first WorkSpaces by Hilton reservation before Mar. 31, 2021 can earn an additional 10,000 Hilton Honors points after their stay.

The move by Hilton is their latest to cater to the changing needs of guests. Prior to the new offering, Hilton announced reduced requirements to earn elite status by 50 percent, while extending points expiration dates for Hilton Honors members.

Hotels Start Expanding into Temporary Working Spaces

Hilton is not the only hotel brand to jump on the temporary work space trend. Earlier in November 2020, Marriott began experimenting with three types of passes, ranging from a day rental of a hotel room as a work space to a full vacation package for those who can work or study anywhere in the world.
