Muslim Couple Sues After Being Booted From UA Flight

Mohamad and Eaman Shebley, residents of Chicago’s north suburbs, were removed from their United Airlines flight at O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on March 20 of last year and have now filed a federal lawsuit against the carrier, alleging that they were unlawfully discriminated against due to their religion.

“We believe the time is right now to bring this to the attention of the courts and the federal government and ask for some accountability on behalf of the airlines — that’s really what this suit is about,” said Phil Robertson, the Shebleys’ attorney.

Few if any details even in the Chicago Tribune site. What the hell does a refusal of a seatbelt extension for a carseat have to do with being "discriminated" against due to their "religion" ? My guess is they were unreasonable and verbally abusive to the crew because they weren't getting their own selfish way.....and were let off so as not to cause more of a rumpus and delay the flight even more. Using the race/Islamic excuse is extremely racist on their own part.

How did booting a Muslim couple off the flight improve the security? The two are completely unrelated.

Yes, Alibabasharif, let's forget any other law, civil rights, and the Constitution. There must and always will be a conflict and compromise between security and liberty in a free and democratic society. Do anything else invites tyranny and oppression. As Benjamin Franklin so aptly stated: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Security first, foremost, and ALWAYS. WE WILL NEVER COMPROMISE SECURITY FOR PERSONAL "RIGHTS" IF THERE IS A POTENTIAL CONFLICT BETWEEN THE TWO!.
