Leeds Evacuated Due to Bomb Scare

On Saturday evening at around 8:09 p.m. BST, local police and a bomb squad were summoned to deal with a suspicious package at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) that caused flight diversions and an airport evacuation. The potential threat was defused.

A West Yorkshire police spokesperson said:”Following established procedures to protect passenger and public safety, a cordon was put in place as a precaution […] Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended and the item was subject to a controlled explosion.”
