JetBlue Flyers Win Free Trip After Destination Compromise

JetBlue passengers on one flight recently won a free trip for being able to compromise in an election-themed challenge.

More than one hundred JetBlue passengers recently scored free flights for a trip to Costa Rica after a surprise challenge on a flight from Boston to Phoenix, Creativity reported. Everyone was able to pick one place they wanted to go and get free ticket vouchers handed out that very day. It wasn’t as easy as you might think, though — the passengers all had to agree unanimously on which destination to pick.

Here’s how it worked. Each passenger was given a red or blue hand-shaped voting fan and a list of JetBlue’s destinations. An announcer asked the passengers a series of questions, starting with whether they would prefer an international or domestic trip, and had the passengers vote. Once international was chosen, the passengers had to agree on a specific country — in the end, it came down to Costa Rica or Turks and Caicos — and to do that, they had to talk with the other passengers and discuss the pros and cons of each. If you’re noticing a thinly veiled political reference, you’re right. The challenge was election-themed. Flyers came up to the loudspeaker and made their case for a specific country, trying to persuade voters to pick their choice. The goal of the stunt was to show that when people work together to come to compromises instead of fighting against one another, everyone can win.

rickg523: No, there was one Democrat on board who wanted Costa Rica, and everyone else on board had to compromise because for Democrats, the word compromise means "I make a decision and everyone else has to change their mind to agree with my decision".

Must have been no TeaParty on that flight. Those people consider compromise betrayal.
