Flight attendants were forced to jump into action on a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight at Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) over then weekend when a lithium ion battery onboard caused a small fire. The flames, which flared up as the aircraft was taxiing to its gate, were successfully quelled with a fire extinguisher. One passenger, Twitter user @Accone, captured video of the incident, reporting that the battery had been stored in a bag stowed in an overhead compartment. No injuries were reported, and the incident is under investigation.
