In Brief: “King Kong” Turbulence Sends Two Delta Flyers to Hospital, Leaves Dozens Ill

Delta Air Lines Flight 271 encountered turbulence so intense on Wednesday that two people onboard had to be taken to a nearby hospital upon landing at Logan International Airport (BOS). The Boeing 767-300ER, en route from Paris to Newark with 191 onboard, initially attempted to land at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) as scheduled, but it was unable to do so due to inclement weather. After also failing to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), DL271  finally touched down safety at BOS.

The two individuals taken to the hospital — a flight attendant and a passenger — reportedly suffered minor injuries. Dozens of others onboard became ill during the turbulence, with passenger saying it felt like “King Kong picked up the plane and shook it like there was no tomorrow.”
