In Brief: British Aircraft Engineer Blamed Himself for AirAsia Crash, Took His Life

It has been revealed that Gavin Price Jones, a British aircraft engineer, committed suicide earlier this year, allegedly believing that he was solely responsible for the AirAsia crash that took the lives of 162 people in December 2014.

The 37-year-old reportedly worked on the same aircraft involved in the crash – an Airbus A320 – which lead to his obsession with the blame. Jones’ wife, who found her husband hanging at their home in January, told an inquest the obsession put him into a depression and eventually “drove him mad.”
