Hotel Obliges Guest Request: A Roomful of Goldblum

While reserving a room at Santa Monica’s Huntley Hotel, guest Seth Freedland requested that hotel staff fill the room with photos of actor Jeff Goldblum. The Huntley Hotel obliged him in spades.

“Jeff Goldblum is my girlfriend’s celebrity crush,” Freedland wrote to The Huffington Post. “Specifically, she’s a big fan of ‘Independence Day’-era ‘heroic Goldblum.’ I’m more a ‘Big Chill’ Goldblum man myself, but you really can’t go wrong.”

David Cohen, the front desk manager who arranged the Goldblum-filled room, said, “We thought it was cheeky, but we get specific requests all the time, such as someone who wants green apples instead of red, or wants the furniture covered.”

what a let-down. "The Huntley Hotel obliged him in spades" would have been if they had actually gotten Jeff Goldblum to be in the room when they arrived. :(

Apparently in the 60s hotels used to quite like rock groups to trash the hotel rooms so they could leak it to the press and make their hotels seem edgy and fashionable. Pity then the poor hotel manager who pleads with Monty Python to trash their hotel room, eventually tiring of this one of them (might have been Cleese) goes to the bath rooms snaps a toothbrush in half and asks if that would e sufficient.
