Have a Slumber Party on Your Next Qatar Flight

Now you can snuggle up with your friends and family on Qatar flights with new business class seats.

It’s practically a big pajama party now on Qatar flights. Passengers in business class sitting in the middle seats have the option to fully recline the chairs into a double bed, with partition panels to create a private bedroom. There are two entertainment screens in each private room, because it’s made from two chairs. So now you can turn your flight into a movie night or pajama party if you’re sitting with a loved one. Or a stranger, if you want to go that route.

“Our unique and patented design is a world first in many ways and challenges industry norms by offering passengers more privacy, more choice and more personalization,” Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker said at a conference. “With these innovations, Qatar Airways has revolutionized the way we serve our business class travelers enabling our passengers to enjoy a first class experience in business class.”

The seats come with luxury bedding, too; cotton sleeper suits and quilts from The White Company. Families can take advantage of the seats as well –they can be reconfigured into a four-seat arrangement, with the two seats in the next row, inside a closed-off pod. The panels and TV screens are moveable so families can eat dinner together and colleagues can have meetings at a central table in the private space.

That level of privacy is going to cost you, though—one seat is about $4,600 (£3,800) round trip from London to Doha.

Big NO NO. Definitvely a bad idea. I pay premium seats to have comfort and silence, either to catch up sleep, relax, or to work. Enough of the work colleagues talking (loudly) in the cabin. On board lounge are made for this (EK, QR, etc).
