Glitch Shuts Down Cathay Pacific Booking

Technical difficulties caused Cathay Pacific’s online booking service to crash for almost a whole day, and the Hong Kong-based carrier was bombarded with complaints from customers who were unable to confirm their flights. Cathay Pacific claims that the disruption to their website and mobile app was due to routine maintenance. Service resumed by 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and Cathay Pacific’s promotional “fanfares” were accessible by 4 p.m. the same day. Cathay Pacific responded to customer frustrations, saying: “We’re experiencing technical difficulties. Our engineers are working hard to get the site back online. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
