French Fighter Jet Terrifies Jet2 Passengers

Castle Donington, UK - June 3, 2016: a Boeing 737-330QC (G-CELR) commercial passenger aircraft operated by Jet2 about to land at East Midlands Airport near Nottingham, England.

On Friday, passengers aboard a Jet2 flight from Malaga to Birmingham were frightened by the appearance of a French fighter jet flying alongside aircraft, only a few dozen meters away.

One passenger described “a mixture of excitement at seeing the fighter so close up and terror as to if we were about to get shot down.”

“We are awaiting clarification from the French air traffic authorities, as to why a military was apparently tracking our aircraft,” said a spokesperson for Jet2.
